The clima, in all the Algarve, is mediterranean offering a so delicious temperature in November as in the height of the Summer, in full month of August. The average temperature of air is  12,2º in the Winter (January) and 30º in the Summer (August). The temperature of the water sea is  14,3º in January and 21,3º in September. In terms of solar time, the Algarve has about 3.065 Sun hours during the 365 days of the year.

Silves´s commanding position made it the ideal fortified settlement. Above the town, the red walls of the impressive castle stand out against the skyline. The castle offers superb views of the town and countryside from the massive, polygonal ramparts. It´s one of the most beautiful town belvederes and a place where you can enjoy romantic atmospheres.

It is a 16th century large cross of limestone of untraceable origin, carved in manueline gothic style, approximatly 3 meters high. It shows on one side a Pietá and on the other a crucified Christ.ááAlthough in certain details it is carved in a very popular manueline style, the fact is that we can't compare it with other works of the manueline period in Silves or in the nearby villages where they still are discovered.
